Dr. John Strouse is an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics with tenure at Duke University, where he directs the Adult Sickle Cell Program. Dr. Strouse completed fellowship training in pediatric hematology and adult hematology. He cares for children and adults with sickle cell disease. His research focuses on the epidemiology, risk factors, and prevention of pulmonary and central nervous system complications; functional assessment in older adults; and ways to improve care and make it more accessible for people with sickle cell disease.
